According to the Sims Wiki, the school is where children and teens go to receive their education and are able to join after school activities. Adult sims can take a painting class, join the Education career, or enroll in University. If a child or teen pranks the school, copies homework, or sleeps through class they can get detention which requires them to stay after school. How well they do in school determines whether the player can choose their next trait upon aging to teen or young adult.
